Get me there
Best Western
990 Lake Ave
Woodstock, IL 60098

Make your reservations early if you need a place to stay. There will not be a hotel block. We highly recommend getting a room for the overnight of the 600k even if you are planning on riding straight through. Having the option and a place to shower and change/keep clothing and devices charging makes everything easier.

$15.00
$30.00

You can ride this event as you choose!  Either do both loops together for 258 miles as one long ride OR ride either of the 2 loops as a single ride.  You can even ride each loop on each day of the weekend and avoid riding at night.  The format is flexible so feel free to bring your friends to a loop and introduce them to the club.

Thie double loop format has 2 loops of 155 miles/103 miles ride from Woodstock, Illinois. There is a huge variety of territory here. The first "loop" heads northwest out of Woodstock through farmland past Harvard and north of Beloit on less used roads. The terrain turns rolling and we skirt the edge of the drift less coming into Brodhead before turning around. From Brodhead we return east on past Turtle Creek and the Stone Arch Bridge at Tiffany. Passing south of Beloit through Rockton and Roscoe we take the Long Prairie Trail to Capron and back to Woodstock.

The second "loop" features the northern suburbs. The route heads east through McHenry and and Mudelaein to the North Shore Bike Path through Libertyville. We then pick up Skokie Valley Bike Trail down to Highland Park before returning west on hopefully quiet streets through Buffalo Grove and Barrington Hills. In Algonquin, we pick up the Prairie Trail back to Crystal Lake and the trail back to Woodstock to finish up 103 miles.

Though you can ride it any way you like and the published URL above gives you the ability to download both individually, some might like loops 1 & 2 in order.  Here it is! Chicago Loop 250 2021 - One RWGPS For Both Loops

There is a pre-ride Zoom the Thursday night before the ride.  Please attend - we will keep track.   We will go over the route, safety information and the support options.  We also need to know where and when you will be starting.

What a hot but fun ride. Some nights are so beautiful that it is worth prolonging the ride to experience them. Thanks for a great ride Paul.

Kinda unreal how these super cycling roads were discovered then assembled into this route - Safe, low traffic, very scenic, varied terrain. Thanks to the organizers...

Thank you for organizing. This was a great event.

As you already know I broke it down into two separate rides:
